Roy
Roy grew up in southern Indiana. He graduated from Bosse High School as its valedictorian and graduated magna cum laude from Vanderbilt University in 1975. He worked his way through law school with the well regarded law firm of Wilson, Tabor and Holland as a law clerk and investigator. He graduated with honors from I.U. Law School in 1979. Today, he serves as a founding partner and managing partner of Tabor Law Firm. This past year the firm was honored to include the recipient of the Indiana Trial Lawyer of the Year.
For over 30 years, Roy has assisted families with life changing injuries and those families who have lost a loved one as a result of someone else’s negligence. Since 1979, he has helped hundreds of families obtain substantial settlements and verdicts to help try to compensate them for their losses.
As a result of his hard work and efforts on behalf of the injured, he has been honored and recognized by numerous organizations. He was named one of the Top 100 Trial Lawyers by the American Trial Lawyers Association in 2007, 2008 and 2009. He is a member of the 2009 Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers. He is a member of The Million Dollar Advocates Forum. Roy is listed as one of the Top Attorneys in Indiana by Indianapolis Magazine. Roy also serves with distinction as a Board Member Emeritus of the Indiana Trial Lawyers Association and is a Fellow in the Indiana College of Advocacy. Because of his success and leadership in representing families who suffer tragic losses from semi-tractor trailer collisions, he is a member of the State Advisory Board of the Association of Plaintiff Interstate Trucking Lawyers of America. He is the recipient of the Martindale Hubble’s A-V rating of lawyers.
Having been blessed with enormous success in the practice of wrongful death and personal injury law, Roy has attempted to give something back to his profession and his community. He is an approved personal injury counsel for UAW Legal Services. He is a founding member of the AARP Legal Services Program. Roy also counsels members of the Legal Club of America who have questions about wrongful death and personal injury matters. He serves as President of the Andrew P. Winzenread Scholarship Fund and President of the Gary Dudley Memorial Scholarship Fund to help deserving children of law enforcement families attend the college of their choice.
Roy has authored over fifty publications on various hot topics in personal injury and wrongful death law. He is a sought after speaker and lecturer with Indiana University, Indiana Continuing Legal Education Forum and many other schools and civic groups that need to be updated on changing developments in personal injury and wrongful death law.
Roy has helped hundreds of victims of vehicular collisions, construction site incidents and those injured by defective products over the past 30 years.
