John Reeves was traveling westbound on I-465 in the right-hand lane on a clear day when he came upon a line of cars and trucks stopped waiting to exit the interstate onto Michigan Road. While in line waiting to exit, a 14-wheel dump truck, loaded with more than 40,000 lbs of sand, crashed into the rear of John’s vehicle, rolled over it, crushed his car and pinned John in the wreckage where he died of his injuries. John left behind three children, ages 16, 18, and 20.
